Chu Chi Tunnels
The tunnel system used by the Viet Cong outside Saigon was quite sophisticated. It’s about 75 kilometers outside Saigon aka Ho Chi Min City. It allowed the Viet Cong to launch attacks against the US and South Vietnamese Army. The tunnel system was dug by hand and went 3 tiers underground and was the main headquarters For the Viet Cong. When it was discovered the US uncovered millions of documents of military strategy as well as plans to assassinate the Defense Secretary Robert McNamera.
Eating goat and singing karaoke
Our last night in Vietnam was hilarious. We went to dinner at a local restaurant with Halena’s friends. On the menu was goat and beer. I passed, but some of the gang tried it and said it tasted like beef. Fen said it was chewy and he wasn’t a fan. After dinner we went to sing karaoke. FUN NIGHT!!
Vietnam War and Remnants Museum
Fen and I went to the war museum. It was interesting to see the communist spin against the USA. I am really glad we were able to see it, but the negative bullshit propaganda was quite sad.
Makes me want to be a vegan!
We have seen some crazy things on the roads in Vietnam. Today on the drive to Halong Bay we saw this man hauling chickens.
